It enters its victim’s body unnoticed and reprograms their immune system, causing it to attack the body instead of defending it. It’s as if Lupus has designed the system for the body to self-destruct. Its attacks seem like something straight out of an episode of the TV show Black Mirror.Lupus is now affecting more people worldwide, regardless of time or context. Its victims number in the millions across the globe, with thousands more being newly affected each year.No one has ever seen the killer Lupus, and no one knows where it came from or where it is now. We only know of its existence through the devastating effects of its attacks—effects that Lupus cleverly disguises to be mistaken for other diseases. Thousands of victims remain unaware that they’ve been attacked by this sinister force, and may never realize it.However, like anything, Lupus has its flaws. By uncovering and studying them, we can find a way to defeat this vile killer.
